All "sons of the firm" in recent years have earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. "We are so proud of these young men, Andrew (son of Robert Folks), Miller (son of Alston DeVenny), Khoury and Trevor (sons of Coreen Khoury) and Nathan (son of Gale Smith, firm business secretary)," said Robert Folks. "This is an achievement which will pay them life-long dividends," he added.
The firm was voted "Best of the Best" as attorneys for the second consecutive year in The Lancaster News Readers Choice Awards 2009.
Robert Folks began a two year term in January, 2010, as President of the local bar association. Within his term restoration of the historic courthouse designed by Robert Mills will be completed and a new county courthouse under construction will open. "I expect it to be a busy term and am thankful for a committed bar as we dedicate these fine judicial facilities," said Folks.
Folks continues to provide leadership in the University of South Carolina - Lancaster's 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign to build a new classroom building, as well as he has been elected Vice-Chairman of the Thornwell Home for Children, Clinton, SC, Board of Trustees, where he also serves as chairman of the Development and Public Relations Committee.
